Halldale Visit Norxe Head Office
On the 13th June Norxe had the pleasure of entertaining Dim Jones from the Halldale Group. As Halldale’s European editor for MS&T Dim attended the Norxe head office in Fredrikstad to learn how we at Norxe approach the simulation market with our products and gain some inside knowledge on the culture and heritage of our company.
The morning was spent taking Dim back in time to the mid 1980’s to explain how Fredrikstad started to become a city with projection in it’s DNA. How now, despite changing markets and external influences a small Norwegian company can locally manufacture a truly class leading product and see it used within critical high performing applications around the world. Norxe is all about innovation and looking forwards but we’re still proud of our heritage and the staggering amount of projectors that this team has developed over the years in Fredrikstad.
With lunch dispatched with we then turned Dims attention to the philosophy behind the design of our P1 projector. How, with a clean sheet of paper, we were able to design a projector completely from scratch that uses what we considered to be the perfect combination of technologies for the simulation market. Why, when competitors around us were moving towards larger brighter laser phosphor light sources we were instead choosing to build a smaller quieter LED/HLD projector that delivered a reliability and stability not seen before within the projector market.
Attention then turned across the hallway to our production area where our projectors are assembled and checked before shipping out to our partners. Dim was shown how simply the different modules that make up the P1 are fitted together and could see first hand the innovative way that we fully seal the P1’s optical engine.
It was a pleasure hosting Dim for the day and we are very much looking forward to reading Dim’s article within MS&T later this year.
