Reiser Simulation choose Norxe for Level-D

Norxe is pleased to announce that the H145 Full-Flight Simulator (Level-D FFS) located in the Norwegian Competence Centre Helicopter (NCCH), Stavanger, Norway,  uses our P1 projectors to deliver their visual content.

Reiser Simulation and Training GmbH (RST), Berg, Germany developed the H145 Full-Flight Simulator including a full NVIS compatible replicated H145 helicopter cockpit and simulated Helionix® Step 2 avionics suite. The H145 flight model is based on dedicated flight test data. Norxe P1 WQXGA LED-IR projectors present the most realistic scene by day and night allowing for the use of real NVIS equipment without compromise. The FFS has been qualified on August 23rd, 2018 at NCCH premises in accordance with the CS-FSTD(H) EASA FFS Level-D.

The simulator comprises a 6 DOF-electric motion and vibration system, a directly projected visual using multiple dual-channel Norxe P1 WQXGA LED-IR projectors on a dome screen having a field of view of 240° by 80° and an intuitive on-board instructor operating station (IOS) guarantee the highest level of realistic flight experience. project:syntropy were responsible for the visual system integration and for the first time, domeprojection’s patented NBlend technology was used for generation of super-precise optical blend masks.

Designed specifically for simulation and training the P1 projector provides outstanding image quality, long life and low maintenance.

Utilising a new generation LED light-source eliminates the need for moving parts within the illumination engine. Hence the P1 is ‘True Solid State’ and brightness is now significantly increased compared to earlier LED driven projectors on the market.

The P1 has been carefully designed with regards to heat and dirt management creating an incredibly stable projector. LED’s provide a vibrant and stable light source with regards to both light output and colour shift within the visible and IR spectrum. The optical engine and imaging device of the P1 are sealed to the environment to prevent the impregnation of dirt and eliminate the need for periodic cleaning of the optics. The Texas Instruments DMD and the new generation solid-state illumination both have a typical lifetime of greater than 100,000 hours. The only serviceable item in the projector is a single fan cartridge with a 50,000-hour replacement interval.

Our custom projection lenses offer the highest image quality in a compact format with precision adjustments. The projection lenses are custom designed by Norxe and are manufactured to achieve an extremely high optical resolution and ANSI contrast for clear and sharp pixels with virtually no distortion. Indexed stepper-motor control is used for zoom, focus, iris and horizontal/vertical shift giving incredibly fine adjustment.

Dr Roman Sperl, CEO of Reiser Simulation and Training commented the successful qualification: “I am very proud of the entire team who achieved qualification on first attempt. This simulator is now the first of its kind in Scandinavia. The Norxe projectors enable the visual system to deliver an exceptional degree of realism for training in numerous ambient conditions including the use of NVGs”.
